Love & Paint, the work of Alexander Esguerra

In most ancient cultures the Vernal Equinox (aka the 1st day of spring) marks the beginning of a new year, rightfully so being that life begins to reemerge from the harshness of winter. What better way to compliment the magnificent occasion than with the art of making love. Artist, Alexander Esguerra's conceptual art movement 'Love & Paint' exhibits the beauty of 2 or more human mammals engaged in intercourse, with the application of color to their bodies then making it's way to canvas courtesy of 'nature taking its course.' Surely, the work has an organic and expressive quality reminiscent to Pollock, but exuding something unique in its own. Socialites, industry folk and celebs all witnessed live representation last week at the Box, in New York City. The location's setting already possesses a sultry ambience with it's burlesque performances and couldn't have accented the affair any better. Surprisingly when asked, many attendees, especially females, expressed a deep interest in participating in the concept. Maybe that was Van Gogh Vodka speaking through them and Mr. Esguerra was holding the demonstration to recruit new subjects.
