Natural and Organic Jewelry

Coming from a long line of silversmiths, designer Sharón Chandally draws her artistic vision from the imaginative and patient nature of the jewelers that have preceded her. She has since apprenticed in three different countries and observed the culture of self-adornment in places such as Israel, New Zealand, India, Ghana, Benin and Japan. Taught the ancient forms of Yemenite silversmithing by the great uncles whose work she admired as a child, she finds inspiration in the ingenuity with which they used the simplest of materials and the lifelong passion they had for their craft. A New York City native, Sharón continues to evolve and expand her methods of working metal while creating many of her own techniques. She is intrigued by the challenge of making her sculptures innovative yet wearable.
